Volker Samonigg is Global Head of the Client Partner Group and a founding director of Corinthia Global Management, focusing on the sales strategy and capital raising as well as relationship management.
Prior to joining Corinthia, Volker served as a Managing Director and member of the Global and European Sales Leadership Teams at Barings LLC and led distribution for continental Europe including Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, and Southern Europe. His responsibilities were building up and managing geographically dispersed teams and developing and implementing the sales strategy in each region. He joined Babson Capital Management, which subsequently merged with Barings, in 2013. Prior to that, Volker worked at Allianz Global Investors for over 11 years. During his time there he was responsible for relationship management for multi-national distributors across the EMEA region and was leading the business development in Eastern Europe working both with distributors as well as institutional investors. Before his time at Allianz, he helped build accounts and infrastructure for fund distributors in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.
Volker holds an M.B.A. from the European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, Germany, and a dual degree M.I.M (CEMS) from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna, Austria. Furthermore, Volker holds a master’s in economics and business from Vienna University.
