Volker Samonigg serves as Global Head of Corinthia’s Client Partner Group, focussing on the sales strategy and capital raising as well as relationship management.

Prior to joining Corinthia Global Management, Volker served as a Managing Director and member of the Global and European Sales Leadership Teams at Barings and headed distribution in continental Europe including Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, and Southern Europe. His responsibilities were building up and managing geographically dispersed teams, and developing and implementing the sales strategy in the region. He joined Barings/Babson in April 2013. Prior to that, Volker worked at Allianz Global Investors for over 11 years in various roles in the cross-border distribution of Allianz’s range of funds. During his time there he was responsible for relationship management for multi-national distributors across the EMEA region and was leading the business development in Eastern Europe working both with distributors as well as institutional investors. Before he helped build accounts and infrastructure for fund distributors in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.

Volker holds an M.B.A. from the European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, Germany, a Master’s in International Management (CEMS) at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna, Austria and he graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
